Our experience with Ben Quie & Sons has been, in a word, fantastic. Construction began in March, 2011, but before then we had met with Ben many times, going over plans and budget. Ben has an excellent eye for design, materials, and also knows when to ask the right questions. When we asked him to help find solutions to architectural issues, he found them. And he found solutions that made sense for our budget. Also, we were able to make major changes to the house, while keeping its “soul” intact. The new work blends in perfectly with the original design of the house, while accommodating our needs as a modern family.
Throughout the construction phase we had an excellent project manager from Ben’s team, Kate Post. Kate met with us every week and we had a chance to communicate what we were thinking, and she always let us know ahead of time if there was any issue that might incur additional expense. Kate had the respect of the construction team and was always ready and able to resolve any issue. For example, when we were debating whether or not to re-stucco the entire house versus just certain areas, she was able to give us estimates of the costs and help us make a good decision. Ben and his team also did a great job finding a solution for air conditioning in our home. A perfect solution for us, and again, met our budget.
I think what is very important is that whenever we had a question or a problem, we could pick up the phone and get an immediate response from Ben or Kate. In addition, we felt we had the HIGHEST quality woodworkers, carpenters, and cabinetmakers on our job. EVERYONE on that team was upbeat, obviously liked their job, and did excellent work.
Finally, we were pleased to see that at the end of every work day, the project areas were neat and clean. Each person on that team had a personal work ethic that made sure we, as owners, didn’t have to worry about safety, cleanliness, or waste disposal.

Certainly I could point out the myriad details that demonstrate the fine quality of your work and high level of craftsmanship. Ben did an enormous kitchen remodel for us. He did great work and he finished on time and on budget. How many general contractors can you say that about? We loved working with Ben and his associates. Ben Quie & Sons recently completed a kitchen remodel in my home and the whole experience couldn’t have gone smoother. Ben Quie, his crew and the people he contracted out were reliable, honest, hardworking and excellent craftsmen. Ben was extremely responsive to all of my questions and concerns and even installed a temporary kitchen in my dining room complete with a full size sink and portable stove so I could cook and clean up without a big hassle or inconvenience. When Ben Quie remodeled our attic, his practical solutions to our old-house challenges impressed me as much as his ability to meet his time schedule.
